In this project, Polaco dedicates his painting to the portrait of figures who shaped his imagination and worldview. Personalities from music, philosophy, and politics appear as visual icons that transcend generations and contexts, carrying within them ideas of resistance, freedom, creation, and critical thinking.
Names like Tim Maia, Emiliano Zapata, Bob Marley, Djavan, and Jean-Michel Basquiat do not appear as illustrative tributes, but as symbols of attitudes towards life and society. Through stencils and pop aesthetics, these images gain graphic strength and contemporaneity, reaffirming the power of portraiture as a political and cultural language.
By transforming these figures into paintings, the artist proposes a dialogue between memory, identity, and influence, questioning the role of icons in the construction of the contemporary collective imagination.
